Photo models – pose for photographers, work for magazines, newspapers, and advertising posters. For them, beauty, sex appeal, a pleasant emotional demeanor, and lack of camera shyness are paramount. Advertising models (promo models, brand ambassadors) – work on assignments for consumer-facing brands. They participate in promotional events, trade shows, digital launches, live performances, and conferences. Their job is to stimulate consumer demand for a product or service by interacting with potential customers. A supermodel is a highly paid, highly professional model who appears in advertising; a highly professional fashion model. Plus-size models are professional models whose appearance and height meet modeling standards, but who come in a wide range of body measurements and clothing sizes. Ethnic models are Black models, as well as models from Eastern and Latin American countries. Junior models are teenage models with a youthful appearance. Modeling as a profession began in 1853. French designer Charles Frédéric Worth, known as the "father of haute couture," asked his wife to pose for the clothes he created. Before this, clothes were displayed on mannequins.
