long haul trucking shouldn't even exist imo there should be a way to have a proper train system to ferry trailers then an ev truck takes them to the destination. The fear of semi trucks is a driving force of road tanks (at least thats what they say) so reducing the amount of trucks should improve that

I think school buses, city buses, local mail trucks, FedEx and UPS box trucks should be electric. They do a lot of miles daily, yes, but it’s not like they go super far away all the time, so range anxiety isn’t too much of a worry.

Love the Edison Motors approach. I’m just a few hours away from them so I know damn well the crazy terrain and lack of EV infrastructure we have out here in BC. Hybrids are an amazing way to cut fuel consumption and simplify trucks. Especially until our grid is more capable of charging mass fleets of heavy duty EVs and battery tech improves.

I'm a truck driver and I drive in Idaho and Montana. The biggest issues for electric semis in this area right now are infrastructure and weather. not everyone can do their 10-hour breaks at a truck stop. and how good are batteries going to be when it's -30 -40 -50f? and can I go 700 mi without having to recharge? Don't get me wrong, full scale electric semis would drive down costs of goods everywhere. I really do believe it is the future.

Deepway doesn’t even sell that many electric trucks they were 8th in china for electric truck sales in 2025. 2025 electric truck sales hit 233,200 units, up 181.9% year on year. trucks are not a big deal, i think electric planes are a must, cause regular planes causes noise pollution and air pollution, way worse than any truck.

This is why we’re investing a lot in rail infrastructure in the UK and Europe- the last thing we need is more vehicles on the already congested roads and electric train lines exist all over the place.
