I’ve always hated the “lost the battle” phrasing. It implies they could’ve won if they just wanted it badly enough or something. That cat is right!

so basically we choose how our life plays out and how it ends before we are born into this life? so even when one dies from illness or tragic events we chose that on a spiritual level for ourselves?

I remember my grandma passed and she raised me and I was crying begging her not to (in hospital) but she said she was ready and she was so calm. I was 10 weeks pregnant at that time and she's gonna be 21 soon. I still feel like I never got over that loss and haven't lived life fully like I should

I think a lot of the phrasing is dumb. We shouldn’t be using words like winning and losing when referring to medical issues.

Not usually a fan of bible quotes but I've always liked 2 Timothy 4:7 and it feels especially apropos here: "They fought the good fight. They kept the faith. They finished the race."

It’s because we have a terrible relationship with death and have cast it as the ultimate enemy in life, when in fact, birth and death are best friends. They facilitate each other. Two ends of the same stick called life, which is eternal and cyclical.

cats always seem to know stuff too. my cat was super judgemental and expressive about it. He was also 100% correct about who was good for me and not. they say if a dog doesn't like a bf or gf, they arw not for you, but I think that's the case for cats even more so.
