Even the choice of fingers slightly affects the results. Would’ve been best if you used the one particular nail for all three

The better test would be acrylic versus gel versus none

You can simply turn it a quarter turn and measure the saturation perfectly well via the side of the finger.

How do you know it’s not the different fingers? I’ve also got readings on people wearing acrylics…

“No variables” but it’s all on a different finger, each with a different pulse ox, one finger has a ring, and just in general each finger gives a different reading. It’s a good idea for an experiment, but this wasn’t correctly done AT ALL.

The sensor touches the skin part of the finger. Not the nails.

I need another test with acrylic, gel, and press on!! Because my readings were always a mess when I was practicing this in school with other students.

there's still factors playing here. you're not using the same finger or same pulse ox, which can be calibrated differently, even with same brand

You should do fake nails. Red and purple I was taught does too but I’ve been an RT for like 15 years and school was a long time ago 🙈🤣 but I think it still affects it
