I have tips!! My hair used to get so poofy when I straighten it so I bought a cream for my hair that made it less poofy I used it in the shower and when I straightened my hair it was way better!!

I recommend that you brush your hair first before straightening, as a person with thick curly hair and who straightens it brushing is crucial, second use conditioner or hair mask, and lastly divide your hair into layers, from top to bottom not side to side, 2-3 layers is recommendeded. theres a conditioner by pantene , its like a frizz remover i used to have the same situation as u but then it went away ever since i have start using it , and use a heat protector or a hair protein spray & brush while straightening
