Normal, no one bats an eyelid I don't think love should be measured by who does the bare minimum better. I think you should both be willing to inconvenience yourselves for each other, learn random skills for each other, help with things that technically aren't your job and take genuine interest in making the other person's life easier The important part is that it's reciprocal!!! He dyes my hair, I spend hours painting ridiculous thermal handprints onto his. He puts effort into me, I put effort into him. Neither of us is keeping score over whether something is traditionally the 'man's' or 'woman's' role. IMO your partner should be one of the people you can ask, 'will you help me with this?'and their first instinct isn't to worry whether doing it makes them look less masculine
