Justice Minister Kubayi Urges All Illegal Immigrants in South Africa to Comply With Immigration Laws Immediately, Voluntarily Request Repatriation or Surrender to Authorities Justice Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi has urged undocumented immigrants in South Africa to either comply with immigration laws or request voluntary repatriation. She stated: “Our path forward is guided by the constitution and the shared commitment to the rule of law,” calling for immediate legal compliance and cooperation with authorities. Kubayi further said: “Government calls on all undocumented and illegal immigrants currently within our borders to immediately comply with our laws and present themselves to law enforcement agencies or request to be repatriated.” She added that South Africa is working with several countries that are voluntarily repatriating their nationals. The minister also addressed employers, warning against illegal hiring practices, and urged public responsibility. She said: “We also call upon employers to refrain from transgressing immigration and labor laws.” She further cautioned citizens: “We call on all South Africans to reject the path of vigilantism, dismiss the noise of misinformation.” Government says enforcement actions will continue under constitutional and legal frameworks while coordinating repatriation processes with partner countries. Authorities maintain that stability, lawful conduct, and cooperation from both immigrants and citizens are essential as immigration enforcement measures are strengthened nationwide.
