The sun is 93m miles away but still can bring tremendous heat to our planet. Yet I can be in 32c heat in one place in the world then I can travel 2 hours by plane (1000m) to another place which can be negative Celsius. If the heat from the sun has traveled 93m miles then why would an extra 1000 make that much of a difference??
