I am diagnosed with BPD but I'm in remission, so I have empathy for them both. I used to be like her 4-5 years ago, and it hurt so much. The constant distrust, the constant fear of abandonment, of rejection, of being discarded. It was horrible for all parties involved. I feel so bad for my ex back then, he didn't deserve the nervous wreck that I was. I'm better now, and I've vowed to myself to never ever let anyone go through that again. I hope they both find peace. I hope she's able to work on herself to the point of going into remission, and I hope he's able to move forward and that none of this goes with him into a new relationship. They both deserve peace and happiness.

Effort to change can mean less than nothing when the person doing the healing just isn't there yet. One day, maybe, she'll be there and heal. But today isn't that day. As someone who definitely got a lot of crap going on up here in my brain, you can empathize and still accept you gotta walk away cause not everyone is built for it

Well this dos sound like a toxic relationship but if you and your partner really want to make it work try couples counseling and individual therapy maybe even take a break from each other to see if this relationship is even salvageable but it really sounding like you should break up if a relationship takes a mental health tole it’s not worth to keep

It's so sad but it truly is extremely difficult to be with someone that isn't in their best mental state and come out the other side completely fine. I fear they rushed into this relationship a bit too quick with moving together after 5/6 months together, maybe if things were a bit slower and she could make her healing and therapy process independently with the supporf of op it could've been different.

I've been in her place. i was much younger and taking different meds, inadequate. my boyfriend at the time couldn't handle it and honestly i get it. it was hard, i needed A LOT and he simply wasn't the one (neither do i). today I'm sooo much better, so so so much, i feel like myself. that brakeup was a good thing to everyone involved.
