I was 10 when this video was made. The saddest thing about it is the disappearance of our accents. Notice everybody he interviewed had one back then, and now you can go a whole day in the city of Raleigh and not hear a southern voice😢.

It’s crazy cause so many ppl hear me talk and ask me “Where are you from?” And I say right here in NC and they say “Oh, wow,you sound so southern.” I’m like huh? I am Southern. I miss the NC of the past. 🥺

This video is why I’ll hold onto my accent till I die. It’s almost gone now I’ve been told I sound like a Texan. Fuck Texas I sound like a Fayetteville born, Newton Grove raised, North Carolina bred human. Wouldn’t want it any other way. Little roundabout the best thing to call home any day
