I just never thought id get to be 46 and not have kids. It’s been one of the biggest struggles I’ve had to face if I’m honest. Ive gone from dismissing relationships because they didn’t want kids To now dismissing them because they do. The idea of becoming a dad in my late 40s. Starting that whole chapter now. Having the energy for young kids. I don’t know. It just doesn’t feel right anymore or even the right thing to do. I’m just a lot more aware of everything now.. People will say adopt, or find someone who has kids already. But I just know that’s not what I want either. And I know it’s different for men, biologically speaking. But there’s definitely a little grief in knowing that I will never be a Dad. All the moments I thought I’d experience Christmas mornings, birthdays etc. The little things. But I’m embracing the path I’m on now. The freedom The ability to take more risks and design a different lifestyle. Not better, not worse just different. I think I’m content being “cool” uncle Carl to 3 beautiful nieces. Has anyone else battled with this?
