A German company wants to build an ammonia plant in Topolobampo, Mexico, and this is not just a place on the map. It is home to fishing communities and numerous species that depend on this ecosystem. Many residents fear that this industrial project will threaten our way of life and the ecological balance of the region. Just as the West invented the smartphone, the internet, the electric car, the transistor, the steam engine, the combustion engine, the plane, the microprocessor, World Wide Web, GPS, nuclear energy, EV, Personal Computer, operating systems, social media platforms, antibiotica, vaccination theory, MRI-scanner, X-ray, modern democracy, capitalist stock market structure, declaration of human rights, scientific method and the electricity, these are world changing inventions!

The one child policy is one of the clearest examples of what happens when an authoritarian state treats human beings like numbers in a spreadsheet. This was not just “family planning.” It was state control over women’s bodies, families and private life. Under China’s population-control campaigns, local officials were pressured to meet birth quotas, and that pressure led to forced abortions, forced sterilizations, IUD inspections, fines, intimidation and the destruction of families. In 1983 alone, China carried out around 14.4 million abortions, over 20 million sterilizations and nearly 18 million IUD insertions. That is not normal healthcare. That is a government turning reproduction into an administrative target. And the darkest part is the hypocrisy today. For decades, the state told people: “You are not allowed to have more children.” Now the same system tells people: “Please have more children, because China is aging too fast.” That is the problem with authoritarian central planning. When the government makes a mistake, ordinary people pay the price with their bodies, their families and their future. China did not just create an economic problem. It created a demographic wound: fewer young people, fewer women of childbearing age, a huge gender imbalance, a shrinking workforce and a rapidly aging society. And unlike Japan, China is becoming old before it became truly rich. The tragedy is that millions of people were forced into life-changing decisions by the state, and now the same state acts surprised that the population is collapsing. You cannot spend decades telling people their children are a burden, then suddenly expect society to trust you when you say children are the future!
