I let my daughter leave at 14. Wish I’d done it so much sooner. We did Maths and English and Biology (went to the local library most days) as well as cooking, hiking, yoga, Portuguese and arts and crafts. She’s 23 now and has her own Etsy business making more money than I did as a university lecturer.

I tried that when I took my daughter out. paid a fortune and it didn't work. they've got ti be very proactive and able to work on their own. i got her a private tutor in the end. 😏

How is she going to interact with other kids? she needs a social life. I was home schooled. I always felt resentful of my parents, because I felt I missed out on a normal childhood. I struggle with social anxiety bc I was never around groups of people in school. just something to think about.

Really interesting. I’m intrigued about what this means when she gets to traditional exam points and how this type of education will support her finding employment…if that’s what she chooses to do.
