Chefs and today wages isn’t even worth it I was a chef for 7 years and with the job I do now twice as much pay twice as much time to spend with my family is a decision I never regretted or look back on for sure

The kitchen life is no longer worth the price. (When I started: you could not find a cook who was not apprentice or schooled we had gone through a hotel program. We had long hours, but we were compensated well and we were fed. Well we had benefits. The guys who worked in hotels had great retirement programs none of that exists any longer the average time for a chef at a restaurant privately owned is 3 to 10 years. A hotel can be 5 to 10 turnover who’s going up so much because of unreasonable demands and poor budgets.
