That is 100% a keeper. She'll come in handy for the hungry calves.

I know people that would pay good money for a cow like her. Almost every cattlemen I know has a cow that will nurse any calf, they can definitely make raising calves easier

A producer around me (beef + dairy bc she’s insane), but she swears by having a couple Hereford/dairy cross in her beef herd because of this reason. Girl gets the best of both worlds

absolutely keep her saves you from having to deal with bottle calves & makes it easier on first time mommas who cant quite keep up with a calves demands yet

George :
She without a doubt the best cow, the more milk the cow has the bigger the calf gets. Instead of 4 feeds a day her calf will probably have 8

Two of my cows, both are my two best mamas, have what I call dairy bags. I raise beef. Both mamas are rather protective of their babies. One has already tried to unalive me, many times. I’m going to keep her one more year, then sell her.

Haylee Larocque :
Big huge udders aren’t great in beef breeds bc if the bag hangs too low it’s sometimes harder for the calves to nurse effectively as they get bigger. It is good to have a nurse cow around especially if she’ll feed multiple calves, we keep one or two dairy cows in with our beef herd to graft orphaned calves onto.
