@ataira89: Some winters killed 90% of the settlers in areas. It was known if you went to the colonies you had a 50/50 chance of surviving 5 years. 6000 colonists were sent in 15 years; 1200 survived. MOST OF YALL DIED. More fun tidbits; it took 50 years to go from a 50-80% death rate to a 20% chance. And THAT lasted another 50 years and got screwed up by a revolution. Yayyy
