We were lucky to be invited to attend a live painting event in Lieper’s Fork at The Southern Underground Gallery with the one and only John Carter Cash. John is an accomplished and award-winning record producer, film producer, writer, and director, a singer-songwriter and author, and now he is adding Visual Artist to his resume. He unveiled his first visual art exhibition, “Dark Hallways,” at the event and painted for a live audience. The live painting then became available for bidding with a portion of the proceeds benefiting SOS Children’s Villages International in support of their humanitarian relief efforts in Jamaica. We had a chance to speak to John about his inspiration and passion for art! 🎨🎨 Working primarily in oil, he uses forced perspective, compressed interiors, and repeated structural motifs: hallways, doors, windows, and corridors to explore memory, isolation, and transition. His paintings are rooted in psychological architecture and emotional space rather than literal place. They are stunning! You can find his art at www.johncartercashart.com It was such a pleasure to meet him and spend some time with him. Check out this amazing gallery opened in 2023 by owner by Tiffany Alder. She showcases some amazing local artists her studio.
