@jonrussellmd: Thyroid cancer is NOT a good cancer. Here’s a few reasons why not (from a surgeon on vacation!) #cancersucks #cancer #thyroid #thyroidcancer #creatorsearchinsights
I was told that the reoccurrence rate is really low

This is a bad post, most people recover from this and live the rest of their lives fine when it’s stage one, why spread this?

So if the thyroids removed, you’d still have a chance of it coming back even though the thyroids gone?

My first surgeon and endocrinologist both told me "if I had to get cancer thyroid cancer is the type to get"
screw that. still dealing with it two years later and on meds and complications the rest of my life?!?!

I don’t even think the first one is even a reason why it’s “kind of good”. Sure, it can be better and easier to deal with than some other cancers with a worse prognosis, but I don’t agree with listing it as a reason why it’s “kind of good”, since that’s one of the main things people like to use to argue that it’s a “good cancer” in the first place. Nothing can make cancer “kind of good”

I'm having issues with sialadenitis from my RAI a few months ago 🫤. My ENT is going to order a CT and chat with me more after that. Do you have many patients with this issue? I'm wondering if it will be a chronic problem

Dr can you please discuss thyroglobulin antibodies and thyroglobulin, LC/MS/MS regarding what would be the next step if these results were elevated? And how accurate are these ?
