@colonisingpoland: What is it your experience with Polish train travel? As a Brit living in Poland, I have to say that train travel here feels like stepping into an alternative universe. In Poland, tickets are affordable, the trains are generally clean, they seem to arrive when they're supposed to, there’s usually room to sit down, and the conductors are friendly and helpful. Back in the UK, taking the train can feel like a high-stakes survival challenge. First, you pay the equivalent of a small mortgage for a ticket. Then you wait to find out whether your train actually exists. If a leaf falls on the track, a gust of wind exceeds 12mph, or someone somewhere reports "the wrong kind of weather", your service is suddenly cancelled. If you're lucky, there's a replacement bus service that takes three times longer than the train. If you're unlucky, you're stranded somewhere wondering whether it's cheaper to buy a taxi, a tent, or a new house closer to work. By the time you finally get home, you've missed dinner, lost several years of your life expectancy, and developed a personal grudge against railway announcements. So for me, Polish rail travel feels like heaven. I'm genuinely curious what Polish people think. Do you think train travel in Poland is good, bad, or somewhere in the middle? Honestly mate, I agree, but the main reason why it's so good is because you're in Lower Silesia... KD Koleje Dolnośląskie is rated as the best rail operator in Poland

I was a couple of times in the UK, and I was always stressed that I was going to miss my flight due to heavy delays. 😅 But apart from that I think that overall train services in the UK are not worse than Polish. 😎

Part of Poles’ DNA is always looking for flaws and spaces for improvement even within fairly good service. When it comes to rail services - we have some sort of trauma from the past when it wasn’t that shiny and to most polish people the Polish State Railways are associated with general disarray, confusion and constant delays. Now before complaining about our trains I always thing „what would the Germans say about their far worse situation?” and suddenly it’s not so bad 🤪

W ostatnich latach dużo się zmieniło na plus ale opóźnienia ciągle się zdarzają. Szczególnie latem do turystycznych miejscowości.

U nas pociągi bywają opoźnione bez złych warunków pogodowych 😂 A tak poważnie to głównie z powodu przebudowy infrastruktury kolejowej. Trzeba pocierpieć, żeby potem było lepiej!
