Did you know that my ancestors who were forced to relocate to the British Colonies due to the plunder of war after war in the Rhineland were not considered "white" by the English leaders. Benjamin Franklin wrote that these "foreigners" coming to Pennsylvania were "tawny" colored and not true white as he considered the English. We would corrupt the pureness of the "race." How funny. My spouse is Welsh/British. I often joke that I am not white and remind him that I am just a "tawny" tanned impure person... LOL.
