Only these two categories are not related to regulatory or non-regulatory toxicology or ecotoxicology: 🔸️ 2.4% — 65 procedures were classified as basic research. 🔸️ 0.7% — 18 procedures were applied/translational research. WHAT DOES THIS TELL US? These figures strengthen our case that ending the use of dogs for human medicines is a realistic and achievable first step towards ending animal testing for all animals. Human medicinal-product testing alone accounts for almost two-thirds of all procedures involving beagles. 🐕 There is no evidence that beagles were used for cosmetics or household cleaning-product testing.
