Y’all treat obesity like a moral failure. I never got to this point but I do know what it’s like to seek comfort in eating when you suffer from severe anxiety and depression. It becomes the only thing that gives you any pleasure, and the constant feeling of dread I had kept me frozen in place a lot of the time because the feeling would only get stronger when I was doing something. As you get into a cycle of doing that your muscles weaken and simply going on walks feel difficult. I tried to cut down on eating but I had gotten used to that quantity so the hunger felt painful and my cravings were the only thing filling my head. People experience mental health issues differently and just because you also suffer from the same disorder doesn’t mean it’s gonna affect you the same way or even be on the same level as you. Part of the reason I started gaining weight in the first place was because my depression was so bad that I had constant thoughts of ending it and even attempted to do so, I didn’t really care much about my health and appearance at that time basically. I’m loosing weight now on a consistent basis, my hunger has finally decreased significantly which has also made things easier. I don’t think acting like she’s awful for having put on the weight is a productive way to behave, it just feels like some of y’all want to be mean for boredoms sake.
