Of course, I love AUs with a mad, crazy passion, buuuut there's something about the more CANONICAL Flumpises too: Fliqpy – the perfect killing machine – can't finish off one particular target, the most vulnerable, the most STUPID, the most SIMPLE-MINDED one. He goes crazy, becomes obsessed, and in the process FALLS IN LOVE. And since in canon he doesn't really know how to communicate with Flippy and doesn't know such thing as «love» exists, Fliq has NO CLUE what's happening to him. All that simple-mindedness and STUPIDITY of Lumpy evoke warm feelings in Fliq, and the only way he can react to them is through aggression and primal terror.
