Even swigging some apple cider vinegar if that’s your thing. These are all strategies that can influence how quickly glucose enters the bloodstream. And certain foods (particularly those higher in sugar and lower in fibre like chocolate bars) will naturally raise your blood glucose more than others. But for healthy individuals, your body has incredibly sophisticated systems designed to manage the fluctuations in blood sugar you experience throughout the day. So let me say that again: in healthy individuals, rises and falls in glucose after eating are COMPLETELY NORMAL. So you’re allowed to enjoy a piece of chocolate without turning it into a 17-step protocol on “how to handle the spike” afterwards. You don’t need to earn it. You don’t need to compensate for it.
