Recently, I received a message that stirred up a much bigger emotional response than I expected. As I sat with it, I realized there was still a piece of my religious conditioning I hadn't fully deconstructed. The belief that I have to prove my relationship with God in order to have a relationship with God. The belief that people have to see me as a follower of the Way in order for me to be one. The belief that my devotion can be measured from the outside. As I was processing all of this, I actually sat down with AI and used it as a tool to help me organize and make linear sense of the complexity of what I was feeling. Not to tell me what to believe, but to help me hear more clearly what was already present within me. And what emerged was this: I'm releasing the trauma of being disconnected from community when I left the church. I'm releasing the need to explain myself, defend myself, or prove my relationship with God to anyone. And perhaps most surprisingly, I'm inviting Jesus himself to help me with that healing. Not to remove my boundaries, but to strengthen them. Because one thing has become very clear to me: I will continue to lead with compassion. But I will not lead with compassion without my boundaries. I can honor the love beneath someone's beliefs without accepting their assumptions about my life. I can remain open-hearted without making myself available for interpretation. And I can trust that my relationship with God does not require an audience to be real. ❤️ #ReligiousTrauma #FaithJourney #SpiritualHealing #Deconstruction #HealingJourney
