A few days ago I was hospitalized and I just tried to be the kind of patient I wish to had more often. I never mentioned my medical background, never complained about anything. When a nurse couldn’t get my IV I simply offered my other arm even though I’m terrified of needles. I never complained about medications the food or kept asking when I was getting discharged. I kept my room and bathroom clean and organized the entire time and every time my husband left something out I made him pick it up because I didn’t want the staff having to deal with extra mess. Whenever I needed something I always told the nurses there was no rush and that I could wait. I never bothered them with things outside their scope. By the end of my stay they would stop by just to chat and when I got discharged they were all so happy for me. Several of them told me they wished all patients were like me 😂 I honestly think I gave them the experience of having their dream patient for a few days.

I didn’t tell anybody, one of the nurses recognised me from an agency shift I did. The whole department knew after that 😂

same,if i go to any healthcare facility i wont tell im a hcw because they expect me to know everything and think that there somewhere i missed or haven't do..why do you think i go to health facilities ?? is because i did EVERYTHING and ran out of options and also though im a nurse that doesn't mean i know everything happening under the sun 😭

My mom (a nurse) didn’t want anyone to know when I was in the hospital until my surgeon started talking to her like she was an idiot. I hadn’t eaten or drank anything in two weeks after gastric sleeve surgery (I couldn’t keep anything down). My surgeon came in to see me and hadn’t looked at my labs or why I was there and it was obvious when he came into the room. My mom “well you would know if you looked at her labs and her report that she’s a patient that hasn’t kept anything down for two weeks. But I’m just a nurse so what would suggest DOCTOR” 💅🏻 🥰
