Most people have seen the Juneteenth flag. The red. The white. The blue. The star. But most people were never taught the name of the man who created it. Ben Haith. Also known as "Boston Ben." In the early 1990s, he noticed something important. Juneteenth celebrations were growing. But there was no single symbol people across the country could recognize. So he created one. Haith chose red, white, and blue to show that Foundational Black Americans are part of the American story. Not outside of it. The flag's star represents freedom. Its burst design points to a new beginning. And over time, that flag became one of the most recognized symbols of Juneteenth. Today it flies at schools. Museums. Community events. And Juneteenth celebrations across America. One man saw a missing piece. And helped create a symbol that millions now recognize. That story deserves to be remembered. #eachoneteachone
