Gwyneth Paltrow is facing immense criticism, with people calling her the “genocide queen” after she starred in a commercial promoting a luxury apartment complex in Israel despite its genocide in Gaza. The ad has since sparked huge backlash online, with people calling it “tone deaf” as the project is situated just 70 kilometers away from Gaza, where Israel is still committing its genocide, bombing and imposing a blockade on the Strip. "While children are buried under rubble in Gaza, while Lebanese families flee Israeli airstrikes, while Gazans starve under total blockade, she is fronting an ad campaign for a luxury apartment complex in Herzliya, Israel," one person wrote on X. Alana Hadid, sister of Palestinian-Dutch models Bella and Gigi Hadid, calling it “unhinged capitalism,” asking if Paltrow has even “watched the news” lately.
