Population Best Suited For: Would not recommend for anyone Extra Notes • The glute max, the strongest muscle in the body (31440415), has it’s overload depend on your grip strength at the bottom of the rep → making the overload of your STRONGEST muscle (glute max) depend on far weaker muscles (forearms)…bad idea ⚠️ • Stretch on the glutes is minimal; seemingly worse than a traditional hip thrust. • I’m not very high on hip thrusts but I’d much rather you do traditional barbell hip thrusts or plate loaded hip thrusts compared to vertical hip thrusts. I would NOT recommend anyone perform this exercise. It’s a neat looking exercise and tempting to try, but it doesn’t cut the mustard. • Glute overload is dependent on weaker muscles (potential glute force ↓) • The natural hip thrust setup = stretch ↓ Force ↓ and stretch ↓ is NOT the recipe to maximize gains lol.
