Hannah, my wild light, my moon-child, my beautiful girl. 🌸 You came into this world with a spirit too big to be contained by words. You saw beauty where others missed it; in lights while lying on the floor, in movement, in water shimmering under the night sky. 🌙 You taught us that communication isn’t always spoken, that joy can live in laughter, motion, and wonder. You felt the world deeply, honestly, without filters. You were curious. You were brave. You were so, so loved. Your life mattered. Your laughter mattered. Your existence changed us forever. & I will carry you with me in every breath, in every sunrise, in every moment where love aches because it has nowhere to go. You are not gone from me. You are part of me. Forever. Mommy loves you beyond this world and into the next. 🌙🕊️ Children with autism are significantly more vulnerable to wandering (also called elopement) and to water-related accidents, even in loving, attentive homes. Nearly 50% of children with autism wander from safe spaces at some point. Drowning is the leading cause of accidental death for children with autism, accounting for approximately 90% of wandering-related fatalities. Children with autism are up to 160 times more likely to die from drowning than neurotypical children. Water is uniquely attractive to many autistic children due to sensory input; movement, reflections, pressure, & sound. These incidents often happen silently, quickly, and at night or during brief moments no one could reasonably anticipate. Wandering is not defiance. It is not curiosity gone wrong. It is a neurological vulnerability. Until we meet again, my precious girl. I hope that you have neverending chicken tenders & strawberries that your heart desires. I hope you know how loved you are. I love you endlessly, my sweet Hannah Banana. 🍌🩷 Hannah Faye Denson 10/17/20 - 12/27/25
