My dad told me when I was in elementary school that my mom would leave him or something. (He was horrible at telling jokes) and so for the rest of my childhood I was constantly worried that my mom would abandon us it probably messed me up a lot

my mom told me that the world would end the day no one expected so she wakes up every day and says "today the world is going to end" BUT I, as a child, knew my mom had a horrible memory so I felt like it was now up to me to always expect the end of the world so the world wouldn't end and it made me so paranoid and anxious 🫶 like what if she and I forgot one day?

as a kid my dad was explaining the movie "Sin Eater" to me cause I saw some of it on t.v. and he told me that "whoever draws the worst bone has to be the sin eater" and I thought he meant draw on a page not draw from a pile, so I tried to draw a bone in my room and had the biggest sobbing emotional meltdown ever because it looked terrible and I just knew they were going to pick me because of it and I'd have to eat everybody's sins and go to hell while everyone else went to heaven. I cried so hard I couldn't breathe.
