Think about it. 1 Metra car can hold at least 40 people, the train has at least 8 cars depending on hour, rush hour there’s more. Thats a lot of people coming from suburbs walking into loop to work or to explore, cause the station is on out outer side of downtown. You have to walk inwards towards lake to get to anything.

Just across the street from you is the Metra OTC. Folks in the suburbs take the trains into the city for work. It gets crazy like this during peak hours because many arrive and offload around the same time. People pour into the streets in all directions but most work in the loop and that’s all you’re seeing.
