@visitleavenworth: Oktoberfest began as a wedding celebration. In 1810, Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria married Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen, and the entire city of Munich was invited. It was such a hit, they did it again and again — and the tradition was born. Leavenworth carries on that same spirit here in the Cascade Mountains.
