@dramandaperez: Stop retelling the same story about yourself. The one where you're "still figuring it out" or "always the one who doesn't know what they want." That narrative? It's not a fact. It's a choice you're making every single time you tell it. Here's what research on narrative identity shows us, hermana. The psychologist Dan McAdams found that we don't discover who we are. We create ourselves by composing the story of our life. The narrative you're writing about your past determines what you think is possible for your future. So when you feel stuck on identity, you're not actually stuck on who you are. You're stuck on the story you keep repeating. And that story is rewritable. This doesn't mean fake it till you make it. It means the next time someone asks who you are, tell them something truer. Something closer to who you're actually becoming, not who you used to be. The version of yourself you're building right now, even if it feels messy. Especially if it feels messy, mija. Your new narrative doesn't need to be perfect. It just needs to be intentional. What story about yourself have you been telling the longest? McAdams, D. P. (2001). The psychology of life stories. *Review of General Psychology*, 5(2), 100–122.
