If you want a hydrangea hedge for full sun, skip the old-school hydrangeas and plant this instead. This is Limelight Prime, the improved version of the classic Limelight hydrangea. It has stronger stems that are less likely to flop, blooms earlier, and stays a more manageable size, making it perfect for creating a flowering hedge in Zone 7 (hardy 3-9). You'll get months of creamy white blooms in summer that gradually age to beautiful shades of pink, red, and burgundy in the fall. Plant them about 4-5 feet apart, give them full sun, and prune in late winter or early spring since they bloom on new wood.
