He’s an active duty officer under the jurisdiction of the military. He is forbidden to speak out against his commander and chief while an active duty officer. He knew what he was doing. He sacrificed his entire life career stability freedom in order to speak out.

The reason this was such a big deal is that there are restrictions against military personnel engaging in partisan political activity in uniform. He was SUPPOSED to get arrested. That’s why what he did was so amazing. They aren’t supposed to do that.
