I posted tacos from Iceland. They were so flippin good that I couldn’t not post them. I did get at least a couple of fermented shark comments. 😂

When I go to another country I love trying the local food not an American restaurant or fast food.

The typical criticism I observe is with influencers who post “here’s how to spend 24 hours in Lisbon” and they’re recommending a ricotta pancake with an oatmilk matcha latte, a birria taco from La Malquerida, and an omakase dinner (with a couple of pastéis de nata through the day) and I think that criticism is fair. You live here, so I would expect your content is more varied and less criticized.

Portuguese people love food, of course we love our food more but why can’t we try food from other cultures, I was in Portugal last week and I had pizza and Indian food, with Portuguese sangria and wine of course

90% of the time, if you are speaking to a portuguese person, expect sarcasm. the problem is that portuguese sarcasm is very hard to translate. we are like that online and real life. learning portuguese is not the hard part, understanding the 100 meanings a word/expresion has

That's simply idiotic. People are free to try and enjoy various cuisines, especially when they're not native to the country. Even locals like to experiment.

Who cares what they say, my favorite is a place that has Japanese/Chinese food in Póvoa de Varzim and its phenomenal. Way better than what I had in the states.
