The typical criticism I observe is with influencers who post “here’s how to spend 24 hours in Lisbon” and they’re recommending a ricotta pancake with an oatmilk matcha latte, a birria taco from La Malquerida, and an omakase dinner (with a couple of pastéis de nata through the day) and I think that criticism is fair. You live here, so I would expect your content is more varied and less criticized.

Don’t mind them! I’m sure they don’t eat pt food exclusively as well. As a Portuguese living in Lisbon, I like all types of food and also the hyped/trendy restaurants. These people are just being haters.

I kinda think like that when people travel to Portugal and only eat burgers and chips 🤣 but if you actually live there obviously you’re gonna want to try all different places. I moved to the UK years ago and I don’t just eat cottage pie when I go out to eat 🤣

Who cares what they say, my favorite is a place that has Japanese/Chinese food in Póvoa de Varzim and its phenomenal. Way better than what I had in the states.

Who are these strange people who decide what someone should eat? Here in Greece, Italian, American, and Chinese food is very popular with Greeks, especially young people. It’s weird that anyone would think we should be banned from these restaurants and outrageous that visitors should be criticized too. Eat what you like 😃 You’re so obviously enjoying the culture and the vibe that no one can say you’re distancing yourself from the locals 😃😃😃
