Hormonal shifts during menopause can make hair more brittle, fragile, and prone to breakage. As stylists, it’s our responsibility to recognize those signs before we create an even bigger problem. Sometimes the healthiest decision isn’t giving a client the blonde they want—it’s protecting the hair they have. After a thorough consultation, I knew bleach wasn’t the right choice for her. Instead, I focused on creating richness, shine, dimension, and fullness while keeping her natural hair healthy. For her color, I used Oligo Professional: @oligopro ✨ Calura Permanent 5N on the roots. ✨ Calura Gloss 7N + 7GI through the ends to add shine and softly deepen the lighter pieces. Then it was time for my favorite part… I used Christian Michael Hair Extensions @CM Hair Extensions Tape Wefts because they allow me to build density exactly where she needs it while creating an incredibly seamless blend—especially on clients with lots of layers. In my opinion, this gives me far more flexibility than a traditional sewn-in weft when creating fullness. We used the colors Going to the Dark Side and Hazelnut, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with the result. This transformation wasn’t about making her blonde.
