The funny thing is how dealerships are handling it. They are selling the new ones marked up to incredible prices, touting reliability, efficiency, features, etc. Then they are selling the used 5.7L ones for absurd premiums, because of how completely crap the new ones are. They’re double dipping on this massive Tundra screw up.

Bro I told my dad to get a second gen facelift tundra as an upgrade from his 2017 Tacoma with 310k miles because they are more reliable then the 3rd gen and Ik he’s gonna regret it once it blows up

The 4.7, 4.6 and 5.7 Tundras will outlast five consecutive 3.4 Turbos.

Nothing wrong with the V8, but I mainly see these kinds of posts coming from folks who have older trucks. The vast majority of turbo owners enjoy trouble-free ownership with superior mileage and more power.

the gen 3 Tundras drive so much smoother and the power is amazing. all around best driving truck over the gen 2 but they definitely lack in reliability and it's a shame. Gen 2 is legendary
