آپ نے دیکھا ہے کبھی چاند سے گرتا ہوا پانی ؟ میں نے دیکھا ہے یہ منظر محترمہ کو منہ دھوتے ہوئے آپ نے دیکھا ہے کبھی صبح کی پہلی کرن کو شب کی زلفوں سے نکلتے ہوئے آہستہ آہستہ ؟ میں نے دیکھا ہے وہ منظر بھی بڑی حیرت سے جب وہ آئینے کے سامنے ٹھہری تھیں مسکراتے ہوئے۔ آپ نے سنا ہے کبھی پھولوں کی خاموش زبان؟ جو ہوا کے لہوں پر اپنا پیام رکھتی ہے میں نے وہ راز بھی جانا ہے کسی خوشبو سے جو بکھر جاتی تھی ان کے قریب آتے ہوئے۔ آپ نے دیکھا ہے کبھی چاند کو دریا میں اترتے؟ یا ستاروں کو کسی جھیل میں لرزتے ہوئے ؟ میں نے دیکھا ہے یہ سب ایک ہی لمحے میں مگر محترمہ کو سر صبح منہ دھوتے ہوئے۔ پانی کی بوندیں تھیں یا موتی کسی خزانے کے رخسار پہ ٹھہری تھیں چمکتی ہوئی دعاؤں کی طرحاور جب ہاتھ کی جنبش سے وہ بہنے لگیں یوں لگا وقت بھی رکتا ہے گزر جاتے ہوئے۔ ان کی پیشانی پہ بکھرے ہوئے چند نرم سے بال بادلوں جیسے کسی کوہ یہ اتر آئے ہوں اور وہ سادگی کہ جس کا کوئی ثانی ہی نہیں دل کو مجبور کرے خود سے گزر جاتے ہوئے۔ میں نے سوچا کہ یہ حسن نظر کا دھوکا ہے یا کوئی خواب ہے جو آنکھ میں زندہ ہے ابھی پھر وہ اک بار ہنسیں، اور یقیں آ ہی گیا چاند بھی شرم سے چھپ جاتا ہے یہ منظر دیکھتے ہوئے۔ کون کہتا ہے کہ معجزے فقط قصوں میں ہیں؟ کون کہتا ہے کہ جنت کی جھلک ممکن نہیں؟ میں نے ہر بار حقیقت کو بدلتے دیکھا ان کی معصوم ادا پر نظر ٹھہرتے ہوئے۔ آپ نے دیکھا ہے کبھی چاند سے گرتا ہوا پانی؟ میں نے دیکھا ہے یہ منظر بڑے قریب سے اک دن جب وہ چہرے سے تھکن، غم اور زمانے کی گرد دھو رہی تھیں محبت کی روشنی ہوتے ہوئے۔ تب سے ہر چاند پر دریا بر ستارہ مجھ کو ان ہی کا عکس دکھاتا ہے چمکتے ہوئے۔ بھرفنا ☁️✨🤍 #trending #fypviralシ #

And yet, when I spoke to my mate Dave at the weekend in the pub, he told me about his uncle, who lived to 95 and yet smoked every day and never exercised once. This is an example of what philosophers and logicians call the 'anecdotal fallacy,' it is when we mistakenly use one story to override a general pattern. It's when somebody denies climate change because of one cold winter, or assumes seat belts aren't effective because they know a story about somebody who survived a crash without one. It's when we let one anecdotal story override mountains of evidence. 4 00 years ago, and before our talk of fallacies and biases, the philosopher Francis Bacon called this the idol of the cave. This is our tendency to trust our limited personal experiences over broader truths. We live in our own small caves of experience, and we assume that what we see there represents the whole world. The problem is that humans retain stories more than statistics. We remember the headline of the plane crash, rather than the millions who fly safely every day. We don't know anybody who's had a crash in the car while using their phone, and so we carry on doing so. The problem is that this leads to terrible decisions. We fear flying while we text in the car. We trust our uncle's advice over the general expert consensus. Bacon's message is as important today as it was back then. Do not confuse the shadows on your own cave wall for reality, because one story is only one data point. The general pattern, and the general rule, is often more important than the exception.
