Yes I went to Paris by myself earlier this year… or that was the plan… but a girlfriend said she’d come and meet me. Well, the week turned out to be exactly what I didn’t want and I’m so disappointed for letting her crash.

My mum keeps trying to invite herself whenever I start planning a trip. It's always "if you want company" as though I don't spend everyday telling people gow much I like my alone time. And she really doesn't seem to get why I, a single 30 yo woman, might bit want my mum to riom with me on a holiday though europe 😂

I travel solo a lot. I also travel with friends. Always a point on the friend trip when I think I'd be having a better time alone.

Once you have someone else coming you all of a sudden have to start compromising what you are going to do. Whereas when you were going solo you could just do, stay, eat, etc whatever you want.

traveling with people is one of the biggest and sometimes hardest tests with a friendship/relationship lol I would much rather travel solo a lot of the time

I have one friend who pretty much always says "I'd have come with you!", and every time I have to say "if I wanted you to come, I'd have asked you!". People who haven't ever done a solo trip just don't get it!

The amount of time I have to tell people I want to travel alone when they ask “why don’t you go with so-and-so”. I don’t want to!! It’s MY trip 😭

Never tell anyone what you’re planning😂 however did have this situation but everything was booked. My friend decided to join so was on the same flight but booked seperate accommodation. Meant we could either explore together or be alone. Was actually a very nice balance!

So far I haven’t had anyone ask to join. But if I let anyone we would be doing adjacent vacations. I’ll share my itinerary but you book your own flight, your own hotel room, etc. We can hang out some of the time but will also have some solo time. That way if they bail it’s makes me no difference

When I plan trips and someone says they want to come with, I say, "Sure, but I'm not compromising on MY itinerary. I'll give it to you and you can join me, or do your own thing." So far, no one has followed through.

And how many times do we mention it to someone else & they say “yeah i’ll come” & you start to book it but they cant go on that date, or the flight times or the cost etc, thats also why its sometimes quicker & easier to just go by urself!! I thgt i was a misery but I like going by myself 😁
