I get you! I went through the same thing! Also I noticed the ones who went quiet when I was on dialysis but when they found out I got my transplant they suddenly show up… 😣😣

honestly I'm the one who cut contact with everyone. it was just too much, hated / still hate being around people. just wanted / want to be left alone.

Same, only thankfully I was lucky to not have dialysis and was able to transplant before I started dialysis. Some stuck by while I was waiting for a kidney, only to vanish during the recovery afterwards. It hurts and I still love them, but it would have been nice to have them drop by for a visit because it gets very lonely. My recovery hasn’t been the easiest. Currently sitting at 2 weeks in the hospital with very serious issues. That’s not counting the 9 days before being discharged, only to be readmitted the next day sicker than I was before (that is this stay). I’m so grateful for my husband to stay with me. He has only been home 1 night through it all.

Haha the “are both kidneys bad?” Is so real. Like I dunno, probably. They did a biopsy on one and it was checked out and my egfr was 2.9 so like …yeah it’s both 😳

People would tell me “you don’t look sick at all”. Ok. And yes we all know we eventually will go through dialysis again, jump through hoops to get on “waiting list”. My first transplant made it to over 22 years. Got my second one in 2023. People don’t understand that getting a transplant is not a cure. I am very thankful. Thank you so much donors 💚💚💚💚

majority of my friends didn't even come to visit or ask to hang out. now that i have a transplant, all of a sudden they are all calling me and inviting me out to stuff... i've kind of just limited contact with them now...

I'm on PD dialysis and I refuse to be disabled. Im stiil living my life, doing my hobbies, and running my business. Honestly it keeps me going. I have my bad days but I manage.
