If this is too extreme, just explain that every pair of glasses comes out of her birthday and Christmas present fund

If her prescription is not very strong. Take it to Walmart. They make very affordable lenses for children and frames. They also have an excellent warranty for frames that are broken.

I got glasses when I was about eight or nine. I was so self-conscious about it that I just didn’t wear them. I didn’t lose them, but I sure as heck didn’t wear them. I remember after I got my license I saw an eye doctor. I told him I don’t wear them. He asked me to write down where exactly I drove so he could avoid me. I still didn’t wear them. It wasn’t until playing baseball in high school when I finally put them on one day at a game. That cotton ball that everybody was throwing me, turned out to be a baseball. And I could see details on the moon. Wow. At that point, I started wearing glasses all the time.😂

Check online, Zenni is my choice but I know a lot of people use zeelool also. Should be WAY more affordable and you may have more frame options making her more likely to wear something she likes.

Get her a mini protective sleeve for the glasses and a small purse she can start caring around with her for the glasses 🤔

So, seems like she doesn’t want to wear them. Well, she needs them and just work on a plan for wearing them. You can get straps for the glasses too. Just keep trying, I am sure that she will get used to it and the responsibility of having them.

She will regret not wearing them later if her eyes get worse. And I believe that the strap helps keep them on but also helps keep up with them 🌹

Tough to lose/ misplace glasses (even with adhd) when you are wearing them. Ask the dr if they would still prescribe glasses if they didn’t know her history. Then ask if wearing them will improve her eyesight better or worse than her not wearing them? Is same, keep up normal eye checks. If worse, then the rule is to wear them. Nothing happens without them. Leaving school? Not without your glasses. Leaving home for anything? Not without your glasses. Picking her up at a friends house? Not leaving without your glasses. Also, if she wears them she can choose frames. If she isn’t wearing them, you get to pick. I think also emphasize that if you don’t wear them you get an eyepatch. Btw I had undiagnosed lazy eye that resulted in wearing glasses. The glasses helped my vision improve until I broke a pair and went to the dr and they told me if I were a new patient they wouldn’t prescribe glasses. I booed out of glasses and never looked back so, there is hope

I'm no help in what to do. I can relate to not being able to keep up with glasses. I buy the cheater readers from Walmart, dollar store, by the 4 & 6 pack. I should have a pair of glasses any direction I turn yet when I need a pair, can't find one.

The other thing I would recommend positive reinforcement- sticker chart working for a reward for her, every time she brings them home from school sticker. Teacher emails saying she wears them sticker
