Went to Rome Italy almost got pick pocketed, caught lady half way taking my wallet out of my backpack. I did have the carabiner clips but she managed to unclip and open my backpack. Pick pocketers work in pairs. Be very cautious if you use backpacks wear in front, wear any wallet to front to keep on eye on it at all times.

We were there in June. I got an rfid wallet, zipper lock and a travel safe messenger bag. And a phone strap to strap on your wrist while you’re using your phone. I held onto my messenger bag every time we enter a crowded area. Be vigilant of your surroundings and you will have a blast in Italy. I also got a tip on not taking pics for strangers. When u do that you lose focus on your belongings and that’s when the accomplice pick pocket. People were mad at me for saying no but I didn’t care

I caught a pickpocket trying to get in my daughter’s bag at notre dame. Now her favorite thing to say is mom bitch slapped a man at church.

OMG, how paranoid are you?? I go to Italy at least once a year, never have been pick pocketed, robbed, anything. Be aware is what you need to do, like anywhere you are, US, EU, Asia, anywhere.

I have never had to do that and I have been to Italy several times. You need to be careful where you go. Yes and Definitely the pick pocket situation is real but it’s not the Italian doing it, it’s the gypsies that pick pocket unsuspecting tourists. Be extra careful when you see groups of children and mothers. They often will bump into you and in seconds already have whatever is in your pocket. Crossbody bags for men and women have been the best option
