@s.showsup: "I asked my financial planner if I could retire at 59½. He said yes. What happened next cost me my entire savings plan. If you're thinking about retiring — ask this one question first. 👇 Before you pull the plug — don't ask can I retire. Give your financial planner different retirement ages to determine what age works best for you. Then ask If I do retire at such and such age (59.5, 60, 62, etc.) when would my first check arrive? What's the biggest money surprise you hit in retirement? Tell me in the comments. If this resonates with you-come find me on Instagram. I'm @s.showsup. I have a free retirement income training in my bio that's helping me build future income along side my retirement. Because one income stream in retirement isn't always enough. Dismissing all the comments I feel for you. But thanks for posting for future women not to make the same mistake. I would literally change my financial advisor immediately!! It’s easy to do. I changed mine from Edward Jones immediately after my inheritance to Charles Swab. Also I did wait until I was 62 to retire barely hanging on by a thread of dignity lol.

I would never retire if I was solely depending on the govt. I’ll retire by then, but I have a nice nest egg already waiting for me.

Honestly my biggest surprise was paying off my house and having my credit score absolutely plummet for about 6 months. 🤷‍♀️
