Luckily for me, I’m Canadian….I never had to take the Japanese driver’s licence exam to get my licence. I just had to give them my Canadian driver’s licence and fill out some paperwork.

That’s very stupid, the consequence of not using the seat belt even in small crash is very dangerous, the airbags will open and you need the space between you and the steering wheel. the seatbelt will create that space in that specific moment, same if you go in the passenger seat. That’s why you have that annoying sound that stops when you buckle the seat belt.
