We spent the weekend exploring the waterways, learning about the local seafood industry, and discovering some incredible local restaurants. ✨ Here’s how we spent our weekend: 🦪 Oyster Farm Tour with Hold Fast Oyster Co. – One of the coolest experiences of the trip. We learned how oysters are grown, harvested, and even got to shuck and enjoy them right on the farm. It doesn’t get much fresher than that. holdfastoysterco 🪣 Clamming Tour with Topsail Intracoastal Adventures – Such a fun, hands-on experience! We searched for clams, explored the shallow waters around Sneads Ferry, and learned about the local ecosystem from the experts. ⛳ Mini Golf at Topsail Island Brewing – A fun way to end the day with great beer, food, and a little friendly competition. topsailbrewing 🐢 Sea Turtle Hospital - One of the most wholesome experiences of the trip. We got to learn how they take care of them and all the story behind how they started seaturtlehospital 🍽 Where we ate: 🌮 Agave Azul 🦐 Riverview Café 🍺 Topsail Island Brewing Everything about this trip felt authentic, from meeting local business owners to getting out on the water and experiencing a side of coastal North Carolina we hadn’t seen before. ✨ Pro Tip: Plan at least a weekend so you can experience both the oyster farm and clamming tours. They’re completely different experiences and both are worth doing. 🌿 Leave No Trace: Respect the waterways, follow your guides’ instructions, and help keep North Carolina’s coastal ecosystems healthy for future generations.
