Maybe try a diff substrate like perlite and stratum cause it’s what’s helped save my alocasias with no or little roots.

not sure if its the same but some plants in the wild that turn completely white integrate their root systems with plants around them to feed off the other plants photosynthesis, perhaps if it gives you loads of white leaves again you could try seeing if the same rules apply (unsure if this is species specific)

Is there a reason to repot into a smaller pot? I always thought more space cant hurt and when growing in nature there isnt a pot limiting the plant either
