It might be a small problem that we do have to adres at some point. But can we at least have a few more years for maximizing share holder profit?

Paying more attention to oceans would be worth our time, perhaps thinking about oceans differently. For example I heard the highest mountain is on the sea floor, not Everest. Also the largest waterfall is off the north coast of N America, an underwater cold stream that after the waterfall, circulates back south in tune with warmer flows nearer the ocean surface.

Europe isn’t gonna cool 20C on average. That’s based on a localised anomaly shown in Van Westen et al. 2024. Even the more realistic values of 5-10C rely on ice sheet regrowth, which is overestimated in climate models due to unrealistic freshwater fluxes and sea ice sensitivity in general. Otherwise, you’d actually find that the atmospheric heat transport with global warming can almost overwhelm the loss of ocean heat transport from a collapsing AMOC, shown in Orbe et al. 2023. Given how ice sheet regrowth is basically impossible, and we are accelerating towards losing permanent ice sheets in the Arctic, the main impact would just be increased seasonality. Of course, when you factor in global warming, it’s the increase in summer temperatures that become most concerning. This is why freshwater in the North Atlantic (that should be weakening the AMOC) has actually been linked to warmer European summers, shown in Oltmanns et al. 2024

Katie, revisit this in 10 years. Bookmark it, set a date in an app calendar, I guarantee you, the data is interpreted drastically, and the planet and mankind will persevere perfectly well in any case.

2 degrees C of ocean temp is the point of no return. we passed that 3 years ago. we are ALL going to die. good news for all of us alive right now is we will die naturally before Earth kills us. but your kids and grandkids are screwed. BTW we have been monitoring since 1970 AND was warned back in 1970 but people kept saying, "we have plenty of time to fix it"

Notice how it’s not global warming anymore it’s global cooling 🤣😂 you can’t make this up lmao that’s why they just changed it to climate change because uneducated people like her have no clue what they’re talking about
