It’s God that saved me, all my Labs have always shown AA and my hubby too AA. So I thought we were the power couple for Genotype 😂😂😂, only for me to be told that I’m AS during pregnancy blood routine check. I wan craseee, but thank God the recheck showed my hubby was AA. I would have had to abort my precious baby that God gave me after waiting for a while. Imagine if my hubby was As that would have been so heart breaking 😭. Nija will humble you.

It could be they were only testing for the sickle cell😹. When you tested negative for sickling they immediately concluded you were AA without testing for the other haemoglobinopathies 😹. Next time opt for electrophoresis to be sure of your genotype because , it’s goes beyond AA, AS and SS.

Same thing happened to my husband he was AA in Nigeria only for us to give birth here and the baby is AS we where so confused doctor asked us to check our genotype we found out my husband is As and not AA why me AA
